Your academic standing is PROBATION if you earned a cumulative GPA less than 2.0. Please be aware that an advising hold has been placed on your record.
There are 2 pathways to Probation:
- Students on First Semester Warning who earn less than a 2.0 cumulative GPA at the end of their second semester, but at least a 2.0 second semester GPA are placed on Probation.
- Continuing students in good academic standing who earn less than a 2.0 cumulative GPA are placed on Probation.
In order to return to Stony Brook for the Fall 2017 semester, you are required to schedule an appointment with an assigned advisor. Your advisor will help you understand your academic standing level and identify strategies to improve your academic performance, and will remove your academic standing hold.
You will be receiving an email (to your Stony Brook email address) from your advisor with a link to their appointment calendar so you can sign up to see them. While in-person appointments are best, if necessary, you may schedule a phone appointment. You will note that the available times to meet with your advisor are limited with the goal of ensuring you speak with them by the end of July 2017.
*Until you meet with your advisor, you will be blocked from making Fall 2017 schedule changes and from registering for classes in future semesters.
