Practicing Engaging Presentations (P.E.P.) is a six-week, not-for-credit seminar that allows students to learn and practice effective public speaking and presentation techniques.  This is accomplished through active participation and constant feedback.

Fall 2015 Program Details:

Weekday: Tuesdays
Time: 1pm - 2:20pm
Start Date: Tuesday, September 22nd

Weekday: Thursday
Time: 11:30am - 1pm
Start Date: Thursday, September 24th


  • Each section is limited to 10 students
  • Attendance at all six class meetings is required

Registration Information:

Space is very limited. Students must meet with the PEP coordinator in order to be considered for the class and go over a few guidelines and expectations for the program.   

We are no longer accepting participants for the fall 2015 sections. If you are interested in participating in P.E.P. during a future semester, email your information to with "PEP" in the subject line. You will be placed on our wait list.

Are you looking for an opportunity to improve your English speaking skills?

While Practicing Engaging Presentations is not designed to specifically work on improving students' English speaking skills, Stony Brook offers additional programs that can better suit your needs:

  • The English Pals Program, sponsored by the International Student Organization (ISO) and the Golden Key International Honor Society, pairs native or fluent English speakers with international students to give them an opportunity to practice their language skills in a casual setting.
