The Charles B. Wang Center is ideal for hosting a variety of conferences and events. Its clean lines and open spaces bring the elements of the outdoors inside, through multiple skylights, marble floors, indoor pools and fountains, and a glass wall overlooking a traditional Chinese garden. The building’s elegant atmosphere is enhanced by seasonal art exhibits designed to explore Asian & Asian American cultures.
With state-of-the-art technology, the Charles B. Wang Center has the ability to link scholars and researchers from all over the world in real time. An array of academic, business and cultural groups have enjoyed this facility as an elegant but relaxed setting for exchanging ideas and celebrating successes.
The Main, Skylight, Theater and Zodiac lobbies function as reception areas for seated dinners or casual lunches before, during and after conferences. Each lobby can seat more than 200 guests and can accommodate a variety of layouts. The confluence of abundant natural light and relaxed elegant spaces throughout the Charles B. Wang Center makes for a serene and special environment.
Created for peaceful and thoughtful meditation, the chapel features a calming bamboo garden with Lake Taihu rocks. Frosted glass hides a skylight from direct view, diffusing sunshine and giving the space a soft, subtle light. The choir loft offers acoustics that are said to be the best for vocals on the entire campus. The chapel is large enough for most gatherings, but small enough to feel intimate. It accommodates up to 80 guests for theater-style seating, or 64 guests for seated meals.
With a professional stage and whisper-perfect acoustics, the Wang Theater comfortably seats 239 guests. This state-of-the-art facility has a spacious lobby, a ticket office, coat check, and a street-level entrance. The theatre has an intimate feel, but the stage is designed to be large enough to feature any kind of performance, lecture or film. A full-time, skilled production manager and on-site audio visual department mean your production will get the support it needs to shine.
Our lecture halls have the ability to link participants from all over the world in real time, and to seamlessly feature any audio visual presentations. Lecture Hall 1 boasts well-appointed seating with individual desks at each seat. Lecture Hall 2 provides individual portals for attendee laptops at each seat. Each hall can accommodate groups of 75-80 guests.
Seven multipurpose rooms offer seating capacities ranging from 10-150 people, depending on the desired layout. Many of these also have adjoining garden spaces for fresh-air breaks or activities. Each space is equipped with wireless internet access, a projector and full audio visual service. A professional, experienced production manager is on staff to assist with lighting, stage management and advanced technical setups where needed.
Guests are invited to explore this peaceful space during breaks for fresh air and time to reflect. Coffee breaks and other activities may also be held here when the group needs a change of scenery.
