Celebrating Diversity and Academic Excellence in Graduate Education

We are very proud to present CDAE Celebrating Diversity and Academic Excellence funded by a Stony Brook University Presidential Mini Grant awarded to the Center for Inclusive Education. The purpose of this event is to recognize and celebrate Stony Brook University underrepresented minority graduate student research excellence. CDAE will kick-off Diversity Week on the Stony Brook University campus. There is no fee for registration.

This one day conference will be held on Monday, May 2nd, 2011 in the Student Activities Center Room B. Students, staff, and faculty can register online by clicking Registration or the link below. Graduate students are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster or oral presentation.

The tentative agenda for Monday May 2, 2011 is as follows:

Poster/oral presentation application is due April 17th Presenters will be notified of acceptance by April 18, 2011

We are accepting poster applications and a limited number of oral presentation applications. Preference for oral presentation slots will be given to students who cannot present their work through a poster. If all oral presentation slots are filled applicant may be accepted for a poster presentation.

Notice to all potential student presenters:
POSTERS MUST BE SIZE: 36" X 42" with no text smaller than font 20. Display boards and clips will be provided. Oral presenters should prepare a talk 12-13 minutes long with 2-3 minutes for questions.
