Petrie Foundation Scholarship Loan Program

$15,000 Scholarship Loan

The Carroll & Milton Petrie Foundation offer scholarship loans for those pursuing teacher certification in mathematics, science and TESOL

Students must student teach in the New York City public schools.  The loan will be forgiven $5000 for each year the recipient teaches in the New York City public schools.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be full-time students entering or in the fourth year of a five-year bachelor’s/master’s program pursuing teaching certification in mathematics, science or TESOL at Stony Brook University

Application requirements:

  • one essay
  • two letters of recommendation
  • all transcripts
  • interview of selected applicants
