available for those pursuing teacher certification
in math & science

$10,000 Scholarship

Scholarship recipients must:

  • commit to teach in a high-needs secondary school for a minimum of two years upon certification
  • be a full-time senior or graduate student pursuing teaching certification in mathematics or a science discipline at Stony Brook University
  • have an outstanding academic record – minimum 3.0 GPA
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Application requirements:

  • two essays
  • letters of recommendation
  • transcript
  • interview of selected applicants
