available for those pursuing teacher certification
in mathematics & science
Awards:
Undergraduate: $20,000 for teacher preparation
Graduate: $10,000 for last year of teacher preparation
Scholarship recipients must:
- commit to teach in a high-needs school for two years upon certification
- be a full-time student in mathematics or a science discipline at Stony Brook University
- have an outstanding academic record – minimum 3.0 GPA
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Application requirements:
- two essays
- letters of recommendation
- transcripts
- interview of applicants
