Let's make Diamonds!

This three-hour program is open to groups of students who are entering grade nine or higher. Participants take part in an experiment that transforms ordinary graphite into diamond. They also engage in other experiments that investigate high pressure and physical properties of minerals. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation and the Professional Education Program - Outreach, is sponsored by the Mineral Physics Institute and is available at no charge.
