Eric Teaching Tool

A high-speed CD-ROM work station, designed to give teaching professionals easy access to the most comprehensive educational database in the field, has been installed at the University at Stony Brook's Frank Melville, Jr. Memorial Library.

The database, known as ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center), provides over 800,000 citations and abstracts of published and unpublished literature in the field of education and education-related areas, including linguistics.

The work station was provided by the Professional Education Program - Outreach in response to the library's request for help in alleviating long lines at the original ERIC work station.

The database contains references to educational research from preschool through graduate school.
