Astonished Harvest
A Poetry Workshop

Astonished Harvest, a phrase taken from a poem by John Stone. A place to share your thoughts, to listen, to hone your skills. Are there things you’d like to say, feelings to express? We are a group composed of anyone – student, staff, faculty, or friend – interested in the interface of poetry and medicine, within or without the Health Sciences Center. Join us at our next meeting November 16 , 2009 at 5:30 pm in the Preventive Medicine conference room, which is on the 3rd level of the HSC (Room 067-066). Poet-doctor Richard Bronson will lead the group in working on poetry and war. Come work with three poets from the Center for Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care & Bioethics. The bigger the group, the more likely we will thrive. We’d like to hear from you. Please email us at Richard.Bronson@stonybrook.edu, if you plan to be there. Give us your thoughts. Be a part at the start.

“…and then the shock, the charmed expectant start,
the last astonished harvest of the heart.”
from Transplant, John Stone, 1998
