Home Page ImageWelcome to the homepage of the Graduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at Stony Brook University.

Our program offers a unique multidisciplinary course of study leading to the Ph.D. degree. The Biochemistry and Cell Biology Department in partnership with the Pathology Department have formed a Program of Study that crosses departmental boundaries and institutions to offer the student research training in nearly 100 different laboratories. Graduate students can select research opportunities at Stony Brook University, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, or Brookhaven National Laboratory. The 2010 National Research Council (NRC) survey, the most authoritative survey of graduate programs, has rated the MCB program very highly. Only 17 out of 85 universities rated had programs with higher average R ratings, and only 6 universities had better rankings in the Northeast.
