Research Interests
Competition and the resulting conflicts and their resolutions in
primates are my main focus of research. This includes the social
structure of gregarious animals (e.g. agonistic interactions and
dominance relationships, grooming relationships) as well as
parameters shaping the strategic options (for instance life history
traits or ecology in general). I have observed captive macaques in
Germany and wild colobines in three Asian countries. My research is,
however, question-oriented rather than taxon based and I am interested
in any kind of research on the above topics (be it in captivity or in
the wild).
