In collaboration with students, departments, faculty, staff and administration, the State University of New York Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (SUNY AGEP) Program has a two-part mission:
- to offer exemplary and comprehensive services and systems so as to broaden access and enhance the success of groups (African Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Hispanic Americans and Native Pacific Islanders) that have been historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) doctoral programs and academic careers.
- to engage in scholarship on diversity in graduate STEM education and to have that scholarship help to shape structures and strategies for enhancing the participation of underrepresented minority students in graduate education and academic careers.
NSF is offering $30,000 annual stipends to graduate students via its Graduate Research Fellowship Program (see details here)
AGEP is Anouncing the 11th Annual AGEP Summer Research Institute at Stony Brook University.
